What's in a Name?

As the Shakespeare version on name sounds:

"What's in a name?,That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

But then a name is a label for a noun, normally used to distinguish one from another. Names can identify a class or category of things, or a single thing, either uniquely, or within a given context.

So ppl started to jolt down the NAME's for our entity/identity which was till now called as TEAM 4, and suddenly we were flowing with lot of options from U - the enthusiastic crowd, there were names like MAYANS , FALCONS ,Attawandrons, Cyborg to name a few which were floating around the captain's mailbox.

But then there was an option which was hailed as True maveric name that out of the blue caught the eye of people, "ALPHA" was doing rounds in the annals of Team 4.

ALPHA - Represents 'the first', also represents the leader of the group.

Options started to revolve around ALPHA , names like "ALPHA FOLKS", "ALPHA MAVERIC" , there were votes for "ALPHA FOLKS" and an out of blue there were votes for Attawandron also, but then it was decided on a friday night that we will be hailed as "ALPHA DOGS".

"ALPHA DOGS  - the dog that leads/guides a group".

Finally we had a name which will represent us as an entity.

Thoughts were raised about the name and it's association to the female gender in particular which also sunk in and the name was accepted by the female masses.

Also there were doubts raised on using DOG as an association which was as an animal was not strong enough, but when we compared names like “Chicago Bulls”, “Back Dog”, “Red Bull”, “Mustang”, “Greyhound Lines”, “Beetle”, “Jaguar”  we were left with no doubts as using animal as an association.

So finally we had a name "ALPHA DOG - u Know who Leads".
